Detailed data
Invensys Triconex 4351B Tricon Communication Module
The TRICONEX TCM 4351B is a communication module designed for TRICONEX /Schneider systems. It is part of the Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS) controller family.
This module may be used for data communication and processing within a Triconex system.
It may be part of a larger industrial control system used in hazardous facilities.
This module may meet requirements for emergency shutdown, fire protection, gas protection, burner management, high integrity pressure protection, and turbomachinery control.
TRICONEX 4351B Communication Module, Main Processor Modules: 3006, 3007, 3008, 3009. Design of Industrial Ethernet modules for PLC communication for online monitoring. Tricon Communication Module (TCM) Models 4351B, 4352B, and 4355X
The Tricon Communication Module (TCM), which is only compatible with Tricon v10.0 and later systems, allows Tricon to communicate with TriStation, other Tricon or Trident controllers, Modbus masters and slaves, and external hosts over Ethernet.
Each TCM supports a total data rate of 460.8 kilobits per second for all four serial ports. Tricon's programs use variable names as identifiers, but Modbus devices use numeric addresses called aliases. Therefore, an alias must be assigned to each Tricon variable name that will be read or written by a Modbus device. An alias is a five-digit number that represents the Modbus message type and address of the variable in Tricon. Alias numbers are assigned in TriStation.
TCM models 4353 and 4354 have an embedded OPC server that allows up to ten OPC clients to subscribe to data collected by the OPC server. The embedded OPC server supports data access standards and alarm and event standards.
A single Tricon system supports up to four TCMs, which reside in two logical slots. This arrangement provides a total of sixteen serial ports and eight Ethernet network ports. They must reside in two logical slots. Different TCM models cannot be mixed in one logical slot. Each Tricon system supports a total of 32 Modbus masters or slaves—the total includes the network and serial ports. The TCMs do not provide hot standby capability, but you can replace a failed TCM while the controller is online.
