Detailed data
GE IS215VPROH2B VME Protection Assembly
The IS215VPROH2B is an emergency turbine protection card. The turbine can be tripped via either terminal board. The TREG board provides the positive connection for the solenoid and the TPRO provides the negative connection. There are five additional D-shell ports and several LED indicators. There are also several vertical connectors and a heat sink assembly that spans the entire width of the board. And has several vertical pin male connectors. The boards are connected together using screw connections via brackets. The main purpose of the protection module is to provide emergency overspeed protection for the turbine, using three VPRO boards. The protection module is always triple redundant, with three completely independent and separate VPRO boards, each containing its own I/O controller. Communications allow test commands to be issued from the controller to the protection module and monitoring of EOS system diagnostics in the controller and operator interface.
