GE IC697CPX772 Central Processing Unit
The CPX772 is a single-slot PLC CPU that can be programmed and configured via MS-DOS or Windows programming software for real-time control of machines, processes, and material handling systems. It communicates with I/O and intelligent option modules via the rack-mounted backplane using the VME C.1 standard format.
Supported option modules include LAN interface modules, programmable coprocessors, alphanumeric display coprocessors, bus controllers for IC660/661 I/O products, communication modules, I/O Link interfaces, and all IC697 series discrete and analog I/O modules.
Update by connecting a PC-compatible computer to the module's serial port and running the software included in the firmware upgrade kit.
Operation, Protection, and Module Status
The module's operation can be controlled via a three-position Run/Stop switch, or remotely via a connected programmer and programming software. Program and configuration data can be locked via a software password, or manually via the memory protection key switch. When the key is in the protection position, program and configuration data can only be changed via a parallel-connected programmer (connected to the bus transmitter module). The CPU status is indicated by seven green LEDs on the front of the module.
Operating Temperature
For equipment that operates continuously above 50 degrees Celsius, such as in a minimum-sized cabinet with no airflow, the 100W AC/DC power supplies (PWR711) and 90W DC power supplies (PWR724/PWR748) require derating as shown in the following figure.
