EPRO PR6424/010-100 Eddy current displacement sensor

Measuring systems with eddy current sensors are used to measure mechanical quantities such as shaft vibrations and shaft displacements. Applications for such systems can be found in different areas of industry and in laboratories. Due to the contactless measuring principle, small dimensions, robust construction and resistance to aggressive media, this type of sensor is ideally suited for use in all types of turbomachinery.

The design and dimensions of the measuring amplifier and the associated sensors comply with international standards such as API 670, DIN 45670 and ISO10817-1. When connected via a safety barrier, the sensors and signal converters can also be operated in hazardous areas. A certificate of conformity in accordance with European standards EN 50014/50020 has been submitted.

Function principle and design:
The eddy current sensor together with the signal converter CON 0.. forms an electrical oscillator, the amplitude of which is attenuated by the approach of a metallic target in front of the sensor head.

The damping factor is proportional to the distance between the sensor and the measurement target.

After delivery, the sensor is adjusted to the converter and the measured material, so no additional adjustment work is required during installation.

Simply adjusting the initial air gap between the sensor and the measurement target will give you the correct signal at the converter's output.
