ABB RLM01 3BDZ000398R1 PROFIBUS Redundancy Link Module
The RLM 01 converts a simple non-redundant Profibus line into two mutually redundant lines A/B. The module works bidirectionally, which means that all three interfaces can receive and transmit data.
The RLM01 does not support master redundancy, i.e. one master operates only line A and the other only line B. Even though both masters balance their own program modules on the application level, the bus communication is asynchronous. The Melody central unit CMC 60/70 provides clock-synchronized communication thanks to redundant PROFIBUS terminals (A and B).
